أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، ثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ، وَقَالَ:
وَاللهِ لَوْ مَنَعُونِي عِقَالًا
