machine translationMuḥammad b. Wāsiʿ narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. ʿAbdullāh b. al-Mukhtār narrated it from Muḥammad b. Wāsiʿ, from Ibn Abī al-Dardāʾ, from Abū al-Dardāʾ. Ismāʿīl b. Abī Khālid also narrated it, and there is disagreement about him: it was said that he narrated it from Muḥammad b. Wāsiʿ, from Abū al-Dardāʾ, and it was said from Ismāʿīl, from a man of the people of Basra, from Muḥammad b. Wāsiʿ, from Abū al-Dardāʾ. Ḥammād b. Salamah and Muṭʿim b. al-Miqdām al-Ṣanʿānī narrated it from Muḥammad b. Wāsiʿ that Abū al-Dardāʾ wrote to Salmān, without mentioning anyone between them. The mursal version is the preserved one (maḥfūẓ).
