I passed by Abū Dharr at al-Rabadhah while I was on pilgrimage, and I entered his home and found him praying, making the standing short, about the length of reciting {إِنَّا أَعْطَيْنَاكَ الْكَوْثَرَ} and {إِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ اللَّهِ}, and making the bowing and prostration many. When he finished the prayer I said to him: O Abū Dharr, I saw you making the standing short and making the bowing and prostration many. He said: I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: There is no servant who prostrates one prostration to God or bows one bowing to God, except that God removes from him a sin by it and raises him a degree by it.
