In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī

machine translationIts chain of transmission is very weak (ḍaʿīf jiddan).

  • Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī

machine translationWeak (ḍaʿīf), not fit to be used as evidence.

  • Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. al-Ḥusayn al-Bayhaqī

machine translationʿAmr b. al-Ḥuṣayn al-ʿUqaylī and Yaḥyā b. al-ʿAlāʾ al-Rāzī are both weak (ḍaʿīf), and Sawwār b. Muṣʿab is weak (ḍaʿīf). It was also said from him: "Whatever has had its meat eaten, there is no harm in its leftover drink (suʾr)", and this has already passed in the Book of Purification. So nothing is authentic from the Prophet ﷺ on this matter.

machine translationYaḥyā b. al-ʿAlāʾ has other narrations besides those I have mentioned; what I mentioned, together with what I did not mention, are narrations in which he is not corroborated, and all of them are not preserved (ghayr maḥfūẓ). Yaḥyā b. al-ʿAlāʾ's weakness is evident in his narration and his hadith.

  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationʿAmr b. al-Ḥuṣayn is abandoned (matrūk), and Yaḥyā b. al-ʿAlāʾ, about whom Aḥmad said: "A liar (kadhdhāb) who fabricates hadith."
