Fāṭimah bint Abī Ḥubaysh came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: "I suffer from non-menstrual bleeding (istiḥāḍah) and do not become pure. Should I leave the prayer?" He said: "No. That is only a vein, and it is not menstruation. So when the menstrual period comes, leave the prayer, and when it goes, wash the blood off yourself and pray."

machine translationHishām b. ʿUrwah narrates it, and there is disagreement about it from him. Al-Awzāʿī narrated it from Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd al-Anṣārī, from Hishām b. ʿUrwah, from his father, from Fāṭimah bint Qays, and he erred in it. The correct report is from Hishām, from his father, from ʿĀʾishah, that Fāṭimah bint Abī Ḥubaysh […]

machine translationHishām b. ʿUrwah, in the narration of Mālik and others, did not mention the menstrual period (qarʾ) in it, and Hishām is a better memorizer than the one who differed from him in that.
