That while he was sitting with ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar, al-Ḥajjāj b. Ayman, the son of Umm Ayman, entered – he was a man of the Anṣār, and Ayman was the brother of Usāmah b. Zayd, and was older than Usāmah. Ḥarmalah said: Al-Ḥajjāj prayed a prayer in which he did not complete his bowing or his prostration. So Ibn ʿUmar called him when he had finished the prayer and said: "O son of my brother, do you think that you have prayed? You have not prayed, so go back to your prayer." Then when al-Ḥajjāj had left, ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar said to me: "Who is this?" I said: "Al-Ḥajjāj b. Ayman, the son of Umm Ayman." Ibn ʿUmar said: "If the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had seen this man, he would have loved him." Then he mentioned the Prophet's love for whatever Umm Ayman bore, and she was the nurse of the Messenger of Allah.
