The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to begin the prayer with the takbīr, and the recitation with {الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ}. When he bowed, he would neither raise his head up nor lower it, but would keep it between the two. When he raised his head from the bowing, he would not prostrate until he stood straight. When he raised his head from the prostration, he would not prostrate again until he sat straight. He used to spread his left foot and set up his right foot. He used to say: "Between every two rakʿahs there is a greeting (taḥiyyah)." He used to forbid us from the heel of the Satan, and he used to forbid us from any one of us spreading his forearms like the spreading of a beast of prey. And he used to conclude the prayer with the salām.. Their wording is the same, except that in the narration of Yazīd: "And he used to forbid the heel of the Satan."

machine translationBadīl b. Maysarah narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Ḥusayn al-Muʿallim, his son ʿAbd al-Aʿlā b. Ḥusayn, Saʿīd b. Abī ʿArūbah, Abān b. Yazīd al-ʿAṭṭār, ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Yazīd and Ibrāhīm b. Ṭahmān narrated it from Badīl, from Abū al-Jawzāʾ, from ʿĀʾishah. Ḥammād b. Zayd contradicted them, narrating it from Badīl, from ʿAbdullāh b. Shaqīq, from ʿĀʾishah. The correct statement is the statement of those who said: from Abū al-Jawzāʾ.
