Anas b. Mālik (may God be pleased with him) was asked: "How was the recitation of the Messenger of God ﷺ?" He said: "It was with elongation." Then he recited: "In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful," elongating "al-Raḥmān" and elongating "al-Raḥīm."
