( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ بِبَغْدَادَ، أَنْبَأَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ: بَلَغَنِي
أَنَّ الشَّعْبِيَّ كَانَ يَلْعَبُ بِالشِّطْرَنْجِ، وَيَلْبَسُ مِلْحَفَةً، وَيُرْخِي شَعَرَهُ وَذَلِكَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ مُتَوَارِيًا مِنَ الْحَجَّاجِ
