أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَفَّانَ الْعَامِرِيُّ، ثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْحَارِثَ بْنَ سُوَيْدٍ يَقُولُ: أَتَيْنَا عَبْدَ اللهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، فَحَدَّثَنَا بِحَدِيثَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَالْآخَرُ، عَنْ نَفْسِهِ فَقَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ - ﷺ:
" لَلَّهُ أَشَدُّ فَرَحًا بِتَوْبَةِ عَبْدِهِ الْمُؤْمِنِ مِنْ رَجُلٍ قَالَ بِأَرْضٍ فَلَاةٍ، دَوِّيَّةٍ، وَمَهْلَكَةٍ، وَمَعَهُ رَاحِلَتُهُ عَلَيْهَا طَعَامُهُ، وَشَرَابُهُ فَنَزَلَ فِيهَا، فَنَامَ وَرَاحِلَتُهُ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ، فَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَقَدْ ذَهَبَتْ، فَذَهَبَ فِي طَلَبِهَا، فَلَمْ يَقْدِرْ عَلَيْهَا حَتَّى أَدْرَكَهُ مِنَ الْعَطَشِ فَقَالَ: وَاللهِ لَأَرْجِعَنَّ فَلَأَمُوتَنَّ حَيْثُ كَانَ رَحْلِي، فَرَجَعَ، فَنَامَ، وَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَإِذَا رَاحِلَتُهُ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ عَلَيْهَا طَعَامُهُ، وَشَرَابُهُ ". قَالَ: ثُمَّ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ يَرَى ذُنُوبَهُ كَأَنَّهُ جَالِسٌ فِي أَصْلِ جَبَلٍ يَخَافُ أَنْ يَنْقَلِبَ عَلَيْهِ، وَإِنَّ الْفَاجِرَ يَرَى ذُنُوبَهُ كَذُبَابٍ مَرَّ عَلَى أَنْفِهِ، وَقَالَ لَهُ: هَكَذَا فَذَهَبَ، وَأَمَرَّ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى أَنْفِهِ
