I and ʿUbayd b. ʿUmayr came to ʿĀʾishah, while she was at the well of Maymūn. We heard the sound of the siwāk from behind the screen as she was cleaning her teeth, and she threw a cushion to us. He said: We asked her about various things, and we asked about this verse {لا يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ اللهُ بِاللَّغْوِ فِي أَيْمَانِكُمْ}. We said to her: What is idle talk (laghw)? She said: It is the talk of people: "We did, by Allah," "We made, by Allah."
