Those of our jurists whom I met, to whose opinion matters are referred — meaning from the Followers (tābiʿīn) of the people of Medina — used to say, and he mentioned rulings, among them: One who has fainted does not make up the prayer unless he regains consciousness while it is still the time of a prayer, in which case let him pray it; but he does make up the fasting. And one who faints and then regains consciousness before sunset prays Ẓuhr and ʿAṣr, and if he regains consciousness before the rising of dawn, he prays Maghrib and ʿIshāʾ. They said: And likewise the menstruating woman does so if she becomes pure before sunset or before the rising of dawn.
