( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي قَالَا: ثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو عُتْبَةَ، ثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ، عَنْ وَرْقَاءَ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مَجْزَأَةَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ:
مَنْ أَذْنَبَ ذَنْبًا فَلْيَأْتِنَا فَلْنُطَهِّرْهُ، فَأَتَاهُ قَوْمٌ فَضَرَبَهُمْ فَأَتَاهُ سَلْمَانُ الْفَارِسِيُّ ؓ مُغْضَبًا فَقَالَ: أَجَعَلَ اللهُ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ التَّوْبَةِ شَيْئًا ؟ قَالَ: لَا. قَالَ: فَأَلْقِ السَّوْطَ، وَلَا تَهْتِكْ سِتْرًا سَتَرَهُ اللهُ
