A man from the people of Najd came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with disheveled hair. We could hear the buzzing of his voice but could not understand what he was saying, until he drew near to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Then he was asking about Islam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Five prayers in the day and night." He said: "Is there anything else upon me?" He said: "No, unless you volunteer." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "And fasting the month of Ramadan." He said: "Is there anything else upon me?" He said: "No, unless you volunteer." He said: And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned zakat to him. He said: "Is there anything else upon me?" He said: "No, unless you volunteer." Then the man turned away, saying: "By Allah, I will not add to this nor diminish from it." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "He has succeeded, if he is truthful."

رواية مالك أصح من رواية إسماعيل بن جعفر لأنه أحفظ وقد تابعه الرواة ولعل إسماعيل نقله بالمعنى
machine translationThe narration of Mālik is more sound (aṣaḥḥ) than the narration of Ismāʿīl b. Jaʿfar, because he is a better memorizer (aḥfaẓ) and the narrators corroborated him; and perhaps Ismāʿīl transmitted it by meaning.
