"There will be a trial (fitnah) - or: trials - in which the one who sleeps will be better than the one who is awake, the one who walks in them will be better than the one who runs, the one who sits in them will be better than the one who stands, and the one who stands in them will be better than the one who walks. Whoever finds in them a refuge or a shelter, let him seek refuge in it."

machine translationṢāliḥ b. Kaysān narrates it from al-Zuhrī, from the two of them (Saʿīd and Abū Salamah), from Abū Hurayrah. Maʿmar, Yūnus, Shuʿayb, Ibn Abī ʿAtīq, ʿUbaydullāh b. Abī Ziyād and Isḥāq b. Yaḥyā contradicted them: they narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from Abū Salamah alone, from Abū Hurayrah, and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Isḥāq followed them. Abū Marwān al-ʿUthmānī said, from Ibrāhīm b. Saʿd: Ṣāliḥ b. Kaysān narrated to me from Ibn Shihāb, from Saʿīd alone, from Abū Hurayrah; and from Ibrāhīm, from his father, from Abū Salamah, from Abū Hurayrah. Likewise ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz al-Mājishūn narrated it from Ibrāhīm b. Saʿd, from his father, from Abū Salamah, from Abū Hurayrah. Both versions are preserved (maḥfūẓ) from al-Zuhrī.
