The Prophet ﷺ sent out a detachment and appointed a man as commander over them, and he ordered them to obey him. He kindled a fire for them and ordered them to plunge into it. Some of the people were about to do so, while others said: "We only fled from the Fire." So they refused. Then they came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and mentioned that to him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Had they entered it, they would have remained in it until the Day of Resurrection. There is no obedience in disobedience to Allah; obedience is only in what is right."
