( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو الْحَسَنِ: عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، أَنْبَأَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ، ثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، ثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، ثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ:
كُنَّا يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ أَلْفًا وَأَرْبَعَمِائَةٍ فَبَايَعْنَاهُ، وَعُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ آخِذٌ بِيَدِهِ تَحْتَ الشَّجَرَةِ وَهِيَ سَمُرَةٌ بَحْرٌ، فَبَايَعْنَاهُ عَلَى أَنْ لَا نَفِرَّ، وَلَمْ نُبَايِعْهُ عَلَى الْمَوْتِ - يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ
