machine translationThis ḥadīth is not authentic (ṣaḥīḥ) because of the weakness of ʿAlī b. Zayd.

machine translationAbū Zurʿah said: The ḥadīth of al-Qāsim b. Rabīʿah is more authentic (aṣaḥḥ).

machine translationThe ḥadīth of al-Qāsim b. Rabīʿah is more authentic (aṣaḥḥ).

machine translationḤammād b. Salamah narrated this ḥadīth in full from Ḥumayd, from al-Qāsim b. Rabīʿah, that the Prophet ﷺ addressed the people on the Day of the Conquest, as a mursal report. This is closer to being correct, and Allah knows best.

  • Yaḥyá b. Maʿīn

machine translationʿAlī b. Zayd is nothing (laysa bi-shayʾ). The ḥadīth is the ḥadīth of Khālid; it is only from ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAmr.

machine translationThe hadith of Ibn ʿUmar is sounder (aṣaḥḥ) than the hadith of Ibn ʿAmr.

  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationThis is a hadith about which there is disagreement on the authority of al-Qāsim b. Rabīʿah. It is narrated from him from Ibn ʿUmar, and from him from Ibn ʿAmr. Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl narrated it as a mursal report from al-Qāsim b. Rabīʿah, and Khālid al-Ḥadhdhāʾ said: from al-Qāsim, from ʿUqbah b. Aws, from Ibn ʿUmar. And this is more likely.

  • Ibn al-Qaṭṭān

machine translationAs for the narration of Ibn ʿUmar, it is not authentic (ṣaḥīḥ) because of the weakness of Ibn Judʿān.

  • Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. al-Ḥusayn al-Bayhaqī

machine translationAbū Dāwūd said: Ḥammād b. Salamah narrated it from ʿAlī b. Zayd, from Yaʿqūb al-Sadūsī, from ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAmr, from the Prophet ﷺ. Imam Aḥmad, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah narrated it from ʿAlī b. Zayd just as ʿAbd al-Wārith b. Saʿīd narrated it, and Ḥammād b. Salamah narrated it from ʿAlī as Abū Dāwūd said. ʿAlī b. Zayd used to confuse it, so the ḥadīth is the ḥadīth of Khālid al-Ḥadhdhāʾ, and Allah knows best. The Shaykh said: It is said that Yaʿqūb al-Sadūsī is ʿUqbah b. Aws, and Ḥammād b. Salamah shortened its chain of transmission (isnād) as he did not mention al-Qāsim b. Rabīʿah in it.

  • Mizzī

machine translationThere is disagreement about it on the authority of al-Qāsim b. Rabīʿah.

  • ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Jawzī

machine translationIts chain is confused (muḍṭarib). It is narrated by al-Qāsim b. Rabīʿah, who at one time says: from Yaʿqūb b. Aws; at another: from ʿUqbah b. Aws, from a man among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ; at another: from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ; and at another: from Ibn ʿAmr.

  • Ishbīlī

machine translationThe route of ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAmr is the sound (ṣaḥīḥ) one, that is, the route of Ibn ʿUmar is weak (ḍaʿīf).
