( وَأَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو نَصْرِ بْنُ قَتَادَةَ، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو الْفَضْلِ بْنُ خَمِيرَوَيْهِ، أَنْبَأَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ، ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، ثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ، ثَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ:
أَنَّ رَجُلًا كَسَرَ فَخِذَ رَجُلٍ، فَخَاصَمَهُ إِلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ فَقَالَ: يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، أَقِدْنِي. قَالَ: لَيْسَ لَكَ الْقَوَدُ، إِنَّمَا لَكَ الْعَقْلُ. قَالَ الرَّجُلُ: فَأَسْمَعَنِي كَالْأَرْقَمِ إِنْ يُقْتَلْ يَنْقَمْ، وَإِنْ يُتْرَكْ يَلْقَمْ قَالَ: فَأَنْتَ كَالْأَرْقَمِ
