When the news of the death of Abū Sufyān came, Umm Ḥabībah (may God be pleased with her) called for a yellow perfume and rubbed it on her cheeks and forearms on the third day. She said: "I would have had no need of this, had I not heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: 'It is not lawful for a woman who believes in God and the Last Day to mourn for a dead person for more than three nights, except for a husband, for whom she mourns four months and ten days.'"
