أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، نَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ: مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، أَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، أَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ، أَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرٍو سَمِعَ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبَّادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ يَقُولُ أَخْبَرَنِي الْمُطَّلِبُ بْنُ حَنْطَبٍ:

أَنَّهُ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ الْبَتَّةَ ثُمَّ أَتَى عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ: مَا حَمَلَكَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ: قَدْ فَعَلْتُ قَالَ فَقَرَأَ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ فَعَلُوا مَا يُوعَظُونَ بِهِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ تَثْبِيتًا مَا حَمَلَكَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ ؟ قَالَ: قَدْ فَعَلْتُ قَالَ: أَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ امْرَأَتَكَ فَإِنَّ الْوَاحِدَةَ تَبُتُّ
