{وَإِنِ امْرَأَةٌ خَافَتْ مِنْ بَعْلِهَا نُشُوزًا أَوْ إِعْرَاضًا} was revealed about Sawdah (may God be pleased with her) and women like her. That is because Sawdah (may God be pleased with her) was a woman who had grown old, and she feared that the Messenger of God ﷺ would separate from her, and she was reluctant to lose her place with him. She also knew of the love of the Messenger of God ﷺ for ʿĀʾishah and her standing with him. So she gave her day with the Messenger of God ﷺ to ʿĀʾishah (may God be pleased with her), and the Messenger of God ﷺ accepted that.
