14658 - (Abū ʿAlī al-Rūdhbārī informed us), (he said): Ismāʿīl informed us, (he said): Jaʿfar narrated to us, (he said): Aḥmad b. ʿAbd al-Malik narrated to us, (he said): Zuhayr narrated to us, (he said): al-Aʿmash narrated to us, from Abū Wāʾil, from Abū Masʿūd (may God be pleased with him), from the Prophet ﷺ, similar to it. Muslim recorded it from the hadith of Zuhayr b. Muʿāwiyah.

machine translationShuʿbah narrated it from al-Aʿmash, from Shaqīq, from Abū Masʿūd in the same way. Ibn Numayr contradicted him, (narrating) from al-Aʿmash, from Shaqīq, from Abū Masʿūd, from a man of the Anṣār called Abū Shuʿayb, so it became a report transmitted on the authority of Abū Shuʿayb. The view closer to correct is that of the one who transmitted it with a connected chain from Abū Masʿūd.
