Ṣafiyyah fell to Dihyah al-Kalbī in his share, and they began to praise her to the Prophet ﷺ, saying: "We have seen the captives, and we have not seen a woman like her." So the Prophet ﷺ sent for Dihyah al-Kalbī and gave him in exchange for her what pleased him, and he handed her over to Umm Sulaym and said: "Prepare her." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out from Khaybar and placed her behind him. He said: Then he pitched the tent over her. Then in the morning he said: "Whoever has any surplus provisions, let him bring it to us." He said: So a man would come with surplus dates, and surplus roasted barley flour, and surplus ghee, until they made a heap of ḥays. Then they began to eat, and to drink from the rainwater beside them. He said: And that was the wedding feast of the Prophet ﷺ for Ṣafiyyah. And Anas ؓ used to say: "We saw a wedding feast of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in which there was neither bread nor meat."
