أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ، أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، وَسُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَحَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ، قَالُوا: ثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ - ﷺ:
إِنَّ اللهَ اخْتَارَ الْعَرَبَ، فَاخْتَارَ مِنْهُمْ كِنَانَةَ - أَوْ قَالَ النَّضْرَ بْنَ كِنَانَةَ؛ شَكَّ حَمَّادٌ - ( ثُمَّ اخْتَارَ مِنْهُمْ قُرَيْشًا )، ثُمَّ اخْتَارَ مِنْهُمْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، ثُمَّ اخْتَارَنِي مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ

يرويه محمد بن ذكوان وهو خال ولد حماد بن زيد عن عمرو بن دينار عن ابن عمر خالفه حماد بن زيد فرواه عن عمرو بن دينار عن أبي جعفر عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم مرسلا وهو الصواب
machine translationMuḥammad b. Dhakwān narrates it, and he is the maternal uncle of the son of Ḥammād b. Zayd, from ʿAmr b. Dīnār, from Ibn ʿUmar. Ḥammād b. Zayd contradicted him and narrated it from ʿAmr b. Dīnār, from Abū Jaʿfar, from the Prophet ﷺ as a mursal report (mursal), and that is the correct version.
