ʿAbdullāh died and left seven daughters, or nine daughters. Jābir said: So I married a previously married woman. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: "Have you married, Jābir?" I said: "Yes." He said: "A virgin or a previously married woman?" I said: "A previously married woman, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Why not a young girl, whom you could play with and who could play with you, and whom you could make laugh and who could make you laugh?" I said: "O Messenger of Allah, ʿAbdullāh died and left seven daughters, or he said nine daughters, and I disliked to bring them someone like themselves, so I wanted to bring them a woman who would take care of them." He said: "May Allah bless you," or he said: "[May you have] good."
