( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، أَنْبَأَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ شَرِيكٍ، ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، ثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ: أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ - كَانَ يَسْكُنُ دِمَشْقَ - أَخْبَرَهُ:

أَنَّ الْمَلَكَ جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ - ﷺ، فَقَالَ: اقْرَأْ، قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ: مَا أَنَا بِقَارِئٍ، ثُمَّ عَادَ إِلَى مِثْلِ ذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَنِي فَقَالَ: اقْرَأْ، فَقُلْتُ: مَا أَنَا بِقَارِئٍ، فَعَادَ إِلَى مِثْلِ ذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَنِي فَقَالَ: اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ خَلَقَ الإِنْسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ، قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ: فَرَجَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِذَلِكَ.
