al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Bayhaqi) 13287

✧ The caliph and the governor of a great province who is not responsible for collecting charity have no share among the workers.

( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ( الْفَقِيهُ، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ حَيَّانَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، نَا عِيسَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْغَافِقِيُّ، نَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ) أَنَّ بُكَيْرَ بْنَ الْأَشَجِّ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ:

أَنَّ ابْنَ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ قَدِمَ بِصَدَقَاتٍ سَعَى عَلَيْهَا، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ الْحَرَّةَ خَرَجَ عَلَيْهِ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ - ؓ، فَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِ تَمْرًا وَلَبَنًا وَزُبْدًا، فَأَكَلُوا وَأَبَى عُمَرُ ؓ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ: وَاللهِ، أَصْلَحَكَ اللهُ، إِنَّا نَشْرَبُ أَلْبَانَهَا، وَنُصِيبُ مِنْهَا، فَقَالَ: يَا ابْنَ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ، إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَهَيْئَتِكَ؛ إِنَّكَ وَاللهِ تَتَّبِعُ أَذْنَابَهَا
