أَخْبَرَنَا ) عَلِيٌّ أَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ الْمَرْثَدِيُّ، ثَنَا حَاجِبُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ. فَذَكَرَهُ بِنَحْوِهِ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ: عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ، وَقَالَ:
وَلَمْ تَكُنْ أَمِيرًا وَلَا جَابِيًا وَلَا عَرَّافًا
