Fāṭimah (may God be pleased with her) came to Abū Bakr (may God be pleased with him) and said: "Who will inherit from you?" He said: "My family and my children." She said: "Then why do I not inherit from the Prophet ﷺ?" He said: "I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: 'We are not inherited from.' But I will support those whom the Prophet ﷺ used to support, and I will spend on those on whom the Prophet ﷺ used to spend."
