وَأَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ، أَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَتَّابٍ، ثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ، ثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ، ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، ثَنَا عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّ مَرْوَانَ بْنَ الْحَكَمِ حَدَّثَهُ

أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ حِينَ طُعِنَ، قَالَ: إِنِّي قَدْ رَأَيْتُ فِي الْجَدِّ رَأْيًا، فَإِنْ رَأَيْتُمْ أَنْ تَتَّبِعُوهُ فَاتَّبِعُوهُ، فَقَالَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ ؓ: إِنْ نَتَّبِعْ رَأْيَكَ فَإِنَّهُ رُشْدٌ، وَإِنْ نَتَّبِعْ رَأْيَ الشَّيْخِ قَبْلَكَ فَنِعْمَ ذُو الرَّأْيِ كَانَ
