أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ عَبْدَانَ، أَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَافُلَائِيُّ، ثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، ثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ الْأَوْدِيِّ قَالَ:

شَهِدْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ حِينَ طُعِنَ. فَذَكَرَ الْقِصَّةَ، وَفِيهَا: فَقَالَ عُمَرُ ؓ: يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ، ائْتِنِي بِالْكَتِفِ الَّتِي كَتَبْتَ فِيهَا شَأْنَ الْجَدِّ بِالْأَمْسِ، وَقَالَ: لَوْ أَرَادَ اللهُ أَنْ يُتِمَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ لَأَتَمَّهُ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: نَحْنُ نَكْفِيكَ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، قَالَ: لَا، فَأَخَذَهَا فَمَحَاهَا بِيَدِهِ
