Whoever learns the Qur'an, let him learn the laws of inheritance (farāʾiḍ), and let him not be like a man whom a Bedouin met, and the Bedouin said to him: "O servant of God, are you a Bedouin or a emigrant (muhājir)?" If he said: "An emigrant," the Bedouin said: "A person from my family has died, so how do we divide his inheritance?" If he knew, it was good that God gave him. But if he said: "I do not know," the Bedouin said: "Then what is your merit over us? You recite the Qur'an and you do not know the laws of inheritance."
