machine translationʿAmr b. Khālid al-Wāsiṭī is known for fabricating hadith. Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal, Yaḥyā b. Maʿīn and others among the imams of hadith declared him a liar. Wakīʿ b. al-Jarrāḥ attributed fabrication of hadith to him and said: he was our neighbour, and when people became aware of him he moved to Wāsiṭ. ʿUmar b. Mūsā b. Wajīh corroborated him in that, narrating it from Zayd b. ʿAlī likewise, but ʿUmar b. Mūsā is abandoned (matrūk) and is attributed with fabrication; we seek refuge in God from being forsaken. It was also narrated by another unknown chain from Zayd b. ʿAlī, and it is worthless. Abū al-Walīd Khālid b. Yazīd al-Makkī narrated it by another chain from Zayd b. ʿAlī from ʿAlī as a mursal report, and Abū al-Walīd is weak (ḍaʿīf). Nothing is established from the Prophet ﷺ on this subject. The soundest of what has been narrated on it is the hadith of ʿAṭāʾ b. Abī Rabāḥ, which has already been mentioned, and it is not strong. There is only the opinion of the jurists among the Followers (tābiʿūn) and those after them, together with what we have narrated from Ibn ʿUmar about wiping over the bandage. And God knows best.
machine translationʿAmr b. Khālid Abū Khālid al-Wāsiṭī is abandoned (matrūk).
in سنن البيهقي الكبرى, p. 1100 - Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī
machine translationThis ḥadīth is false (bāṭil) and has no basis, and ʿAmr b. Khālid is abandoned in ḥadīth (matrūk al-ḥadīth).

machine translationHe found it defective because of ʿAmr b. Khālid and said: he has no corroboration and is known only through him, and he reported that a group declared him a liar.
machine translationʿAmr b. Khālid: most of what he narrates are fabrications (mawḍūʿāt).

machine translationThe ḥadīth masters (ḥuffāẓ) agreed upon his weakness.
in سنن البيهقي الكبرى, p. 1100 - Ibn Ḥazm
machine translationIt is not permissible to narrate this report except with a clarification of its worthlessness, because ʿAmr b. Khālid alone transmitted it, and he is known for lying.
in سنن البيهقي الكبرى, p. 1100 - Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. al-Ḥusayn al-Bayhaqī
machine translationAbū al-Walīd Khālid b. Yazīd al-Makkī narrated it by another chain from Zayd b. ʿAlī from ʿAlī as a mursal report, and Abū al-Walīd is weak (ḍaʿīf). The two of them reported it from al-Dāraquṭnī, and so it is in his Sunan.
