My wife entered upon ʿĀʾishah, together with an umm walad of Zayd b. Arqam. Zayd's umm walad said to her: "I sold a slave to Zayd for eight hundred on credit, and then I bought him back from him for six hundred in cash." ʿĀʾishah (may God be pleased with her) said: "Convey to Zayd that he has nullified his striving (jihād) with the Messenger of God ﷺ unless he repents. What an evil thing you sold, and what an evil thing you bought!"

machine translationHe was asked about the hadith of the wife of Abū Isḥāq al-Sabīʿī, from ʿĀʾishah, in the story of Zayd b. Arqam. He said: She is Umm Yūnus, whose name is al-ʿĀliyah, the wife of Abū Isḥāq. Abū Isḥāq narrates it from his wife Umm Yūnus, from ʿĀʾishah. ʿAmmār b. Ruzayq said, from Abū Isḥāq, from al-ʿĀliyah, the wife of Abū al-Safar, but he was mistaken in that; what he meant was the wife of Abū Isḥāq.

machine translationA hadith that revolves around an unknown woman, and it is not considered a proof by the scholars of hadith.
in سنن البيهقي الكبرى, p. 10908 - Shafiʿī
machine translationSomething like this is not established from ʿĀʾishah in our view. Even if it were established, it is possible that ʿĀʾishah rejected the sale until the time of the stipend (ʿaṭāʾ), because that is an unknown term.
in سنن البيهقي الكبرى, p. 10908 - Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr
machine translationA report that the scholars of hadith do not consider established, nor is it among those reports they use as proof.
