We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When we came to overlook the lava field of Wāqim, we descended from it, and behold, there were graves in a bend of the valley. We said: "O Messenger of Allah, these are the graves of our brothers." He said: "These are the graves of our companions." Then we went on, and when we came to the graves of the martyrs, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: "These are the graves of our brothers."

  • Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr

machine translationThis is a Madinan hadith with a good (ḥasan) chain. Muḥammad b. Maʿn is trustworthy (thiqah) according to them, and Dāwūd b. Khālid b. Dīnār has not been mentioned by anyone with criticism, nor has any of the transmitters among the leading hadith scholars declared him weak, and none of them rejected him.

machine translationI do not know of anyone who narrates this hadith from Rabīʿah other than Dāwūd b. Khālid, and it seems his hadiths are solitary narrations (ifrādāt), and I hope that there is no harm in him.
