أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي، ثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، أَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، أَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ، أَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ مَاهَكَ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ أَخْبَرَهُ:
أَنَّهُ أَقْبَلَ مَعَ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ وَكَعْبِ الْأَحْبَارِ فِي أُنَاسٍ مُحْرِمِينَ مِنْ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ بِعُمْرَةٍ، حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِبَعْضِ الطَّرِيقِ، وَكَعْبٌ عَلَى نَارٍ يَصْطَلِي مَرَّتْ بِهِ رِجْلٌ مِنْ جَرَادٍ فَأَخَذَ جَرَادَتَيْنِ فَقَتَلَهُمَا، وَنَسِيَ إِحْرَامَهُ، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ إِحْرَامَهُ فَأَلْقَاهَا، فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ دَخَلَ الْقَوْمُ عَلَى عُمَرَ ؓ، وَدَخَلْتُ مَعَهُمْ، فَقَصَّ كَعْبٌ قِصَّةَ الْجَرَادَتَيْنِ عَلَى عُمَرَ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ ؓ: وَمَنْ بِذَلِكَ لَعَلَّكَ يَا كَعْبُ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: إِنَّ حِمْيَرَ تُحِبُّ الْجَرَادَ، مَا جَعَلْتَ فِي نَفْسِكَ ؟ قَالَ: دِرْهَمَيْنِ، قَالَ: بَخٍ، دِرْهَمَانِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ مِائَةِ جَرَادَةٍ، اجْعَلْ مَا جَعَلْتَ فِي نَفْسِكَ
