وَأَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا: ثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، أَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ مَطَرٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ:
أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ كَانَ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ بِمِنًى فَرَأَى رَجُلًا عَلَى جَبَلٍ يَعْضِدُ شَجَرًا فَدَعَاهُ فَقَالَ: أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ مَكَّةَ لَا يُعْضَدُ شَجَرُهَا، وَلَا يُخْتَلَى خَلَاهَا ؟ قَالَ: بَلَى، وَلَكِنِّي حَمَلَنِي عَلَى ذَلِكَ بَعِيرٌ لِي نِضْوٌ، قَالَ: فَحَمَلَهُ عَلَى بَعِيرٍ، وَقَالَ لَهُ: لَا تَعُدْ. وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ عَلَيْهِ شَيْئًا
