حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ
لَوْلَا أَمْرَانِ لَأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ عَبْدًا مَمْلُوكًا، وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ الْمَمْلُوكَ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَصْنَعَ فِي مَالِهِ شَيْئًا، وَذَلِكَ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: مَا خَلَقَ اللهُ عَبْدًا يُؤَدِّي حَقَّ اللهِ وَحَقَّ سَيِّدِهِ إِلَّا وَفَّاهُ اللهُ أَجْرَهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ

✧ Were it not for two matters, I would love to be an owned slave. That is because the slave cannot do anything with his wealth, and because I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: 'God does not create a servant who fulfills the right of God and the right of his master except that God will give him his reward twice.'
