حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِهَا لَمَمٌ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَشْفِيَنِي قَالَ: إِنْ شِئْتِ دَعَوْتُ اللهَ أَنْ يَشْفِيَكِ، وَإِنْ شِئْتِ فَاصْبِرِي وَلَا حِسَابَ عَلَيْكِ قَالَتْ: بَلْ أَصْبِرُ وَلَا حِسَابَ عَلَيَّ.

✧ A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ with a touch of madness (lamam) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, supplicate Allah to heal me.' He said: 'If you wish, I will supplicate Allah to heal you, and if you wish, be patient and there will be no reckoning against you.' She said: 'Rather, I will be patient, and no reckoning against me.'
