حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدٌ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ
إِذَا انْتَهَى أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الْمَجْلِسِ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ، فَإِنْ بَدَا لَهُ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ فَلْيَجْلِسْ، ثُمَّ إِنْ قَامَ وَالْقَوْمُ جُلُوسٌ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ فَلَيْسَتِ الْأُولَى بِأَحَقَّ مِنَ الْآخِرَةِ.

✧ When one of you reaches a gathering, let him greet with salam. If he wishes to sit, let him sit. Then if he stands while the people are seated, let him greet with salam, for the first is not more deserving than the last.
