حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ آدَمَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ
الْأَنْبِيَاءُ إِخْوَةٌ لِعَلَّاتٍ: دِينُهُمْ وَاحِدٌ، وَأُمَّهَاتُهُمْ شَتَّى، وَأَنَا أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ لِأَنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ نَبِيٌّ وَإِنَّهُ نَازِلٌ، فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَاعْرِفُوهُ فَإِنَّهُ رَجُلٌ مَرْبُوعٌ إِلَى الْحُمْرَةِ وَالْبَيَاضِ، سَبِطُ كَأَنَّ رَأْسَهُ يَقْطُرُ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يُصِبْهُ بَلَلٌ، بَيْنَ مُمَصَّرَتَيْنِ، فَيَكْسِرُ الصَّلِيبَ وَيَقْتُلُ الْخِنْزِيرَ، وَيَضَعُ الْجِزْيَةَ، وَيُعَطِّلُ الْمِلَلَ حَتَّى تَهْلِكَ فِي زَمَانِهِ الْمِلَلُ كُلُّهَا غَيْرَ الْإِسْلَامِ، وَيُهْلِكُ اللهُ فِي زَمَانِهِ الْمَسِيحَ الدَّجَّالَ الْكَذَّابَ، وَتَقَعُ الْأَمَنَةُ فِي الْأَرْضِ حَتَّى تَرْتَعَ الْإِبِلُ مَعَ الْأُسْدِ جَمِيعًا، وَالنُّمُورُ مَعَ الْبَقَرِ وَالذِّئَابُ مَعَ الْغَنَمِ، وَيَلْعَبَ الصِّبْيَانُ وَالْغِلْمَانُ بِالْحَيَّاتِ لَا يَضُرُّ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا، فَيَمْكُثُ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ أَنْ يَمْكُثَ، ثُمَّ يُتَوَفَّى فَيُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ الْمُسْلِمُونَ وَيَدْفِنُونَهُ

✧ The prophets are half-brothers from different mothers: their religion is one, and their mothers are various. I am the closest of people to Jesus son of Mary, for there has been no prophet between me and him. He will descend, and when you see him, recognize him: he is a man of medium height, of reddish-white complexion, with lank hair as if his head is dripping though no moisture touches him, wearing two garments dyed with safflower. He will break the cross, kill the pig, abolish the jizyah, and nullify all religions until all religions except Islam perish in his time. God will destroy in his time the false messiah, the liar. Security will prevail on earth until camels graze with lions together, and leopards with cattle, and wolves with sheep, and children and boys play with snakes without any harming another. He will remain as long as God wills, then he will die, and the Muslims will pray over him and bury him.
