حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ مُخَارِقٍ عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ
رَأَيْتُ عَلِيًّا عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَخْطُبُ، وَعَلَيْهِ سَيْفٌ حِلْيَتُهُ حَدِيدٌ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: وَاللهِ مَا عِنْدَنَا كِتَابٌ نَقْرَؤُهُ عَلَيْكُمْ إِلَّا كِتَابَ اللهِ تَعَالَى، وَهَذِهِ الصَّحِيفَةَ أَعْطَانِيهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، فِيهَا فَرَائِضُ الصَّدَقَةِ، قَالَ: لِصَحِيفَةٍ مُعَلَّقَةٍ بِسَيْفِهِ
Translation

✧ I saw Ali on the pulpit giving a sermon, wearing a sword whose adornment was iron, and I heard him say: 'By God, we have no book to read to you except the Book of God Most High and this document which the Messenger of God ﷺ gave me, containing the obligatory rates of charity.' He said: referring to a document attached to his sword.
