machine translationAl-Aʿmash transmits it, and there is disagreement about him. Shuʿbah, al-Thawrī, Abū Muʿāwiyah al-Ḍarīr and ʿĪsā b. Yūnus narrated it from al-Aʿmash, from Abū Ḥāzim, from Abū Hurayrah. Asbāṭ b. Muḥammad and Ibn Fuḍayl narrated it from al-Aʿmash, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from Abū Hurayrah. It is also reported from Suhayl, from his father, from Abū Hurayrah. ʿAmr b. ʿAbd al-Ghaffār said: from al-Aʿmash, from Abū Sufyān, from Jābir, and from Abū Ḥāzim, from Abū Hurayrah. The preserved (maḥfūẓ) version is the hadith of Abū Ḥāzim from Abū Hurayrah. Abū Bakr b. ʿAyyāsh narrated it from al-Aʿmash, from Abū Ḥāzim, from Abū Hurayrah, and added some wording to it, namely his saying: "Whoever asks you by God, give him; and whoever invites you, respond to him." These words are only known from al-Aʿmash, from Mujāhid, from Ibn ʿUmar.
