Musnad Ahmad 9400

مَنْ تَوَلَّى قَوْمًا بِغَيْرِ إِذْنِ مَوَالِيهِ فَعَلَيْهِ لَعْنَةُ اللهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةِ، لَا يَقْبَلُ اللهُ مِنْهُ صَرْفًا وَلَا عَدْلًا.

Translation

✧ Whoever takes someone as a client without the permission of his patrons incurs the curse of Allah and the angels; Allah will accept from him neither an optional (ṣarf) nor an obligatory (ʿadl) act.
