حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ
لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَكْثُرَ الْمَالُ وَيَفِيضَ، حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ الرَّجُلُ بِزَكَاةِ مَالِهِ فَلَا يَجِدُ أَحَدًا يَقْبَلُهَا مِنْهُ، وَحَتَّى تَعُودَ أَرْضُ الْعَرَبِ مُرُوجًا وَأَنْهَارًا، وَحَتَّى يَكْثُرَ الْهَرْجُ قَالُوا: وَمَا الْهَرْجُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ قَالَ: الْقَتْلُ الْقَتْلُ.

✧ The Hour will not come until wealth abounds and overflows, to the point that a man will go out with the zakat of his wealth and find no one to accept it from him; and until the land of the Arabs returns to being meadows and rivers; and until killing (harj) becomes widespread. They said: “What is harj, O Messenger of Allah?” He said: “Killing, killing.”
