Musnad Ahmad 9366

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ saw some sputum in the direction of the qiblah. He said—once he said: 'He scraped it off.' Then he said: 'I stood up and scraped it off.' Then he said: 'Would any of you like, when he is in his prayer, to have someone spit in his face or expectorate in his face? When one of you is in his prayer, let him not spit in front of him or to his right, but to his left under his foot. If he cannot find [a place], let him do thus with his garment.'
