Translation

✧ An ant bit one of the Prophets, so he ordered that the ant colony be burned. Then Allah, Mighty and Majestic, revealed to him: 'Because an ant bit you, you destroyed a community among the communities that glorifies [Allah].'

Abī ʿAblah likewise narrated it from al-Zuhrī. ʿAwn, the freedman of Umm Yaḥyā, narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from Abū Salamah alone, from Abū Hurayrah, and Ibn Samʿān followed him on this from al-Zuhrī.
