حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْتُورُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبَّادٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ قَالَ

لَقِيَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَجُلٌ وَهُوَ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ فَقَالَ: يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَنْتَ نَهَيْتَ النَّاسَ عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ قَالَ: لَا وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ وَلَكِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْهُ

Translation

✧ A man met Abu Hurayrah while he was circumambulating the House and said: 'O Abu Hurayrah, did you forbid the people from fasting on Friday?' He said: 'No, by the Lord of the Ka'bah, but the Messenger of God ﷺ forbade it.'
