✧ I was sitting with Salim b. Abd Allah at the gate of Madinah when a young man of Quraysh passed by, as if his lower garment was trailing loosely. He said: 'Raise your lower garment.' The young man began making excuses, saying: 'It is hanging loosely, and it is made of linen.' When he had gone, he said: 'I heard Abu Hurayrah say: I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: While a man was walking in a fine garment of his, pleased with himself, Allah caused the earth to swallow him, and he will be sinking into it until the Day of Resurrection.'
